Philanthropy Friday: do.justice

April 9, 2010 in Giving

I get really excited about saving money but, I also love to the opportunity to give my time and money to nonprofits organizations in my community.  Philanthropy Friday is an opportunity to learn about some great ways to give back.

Single?  What are your plans for next Saturday?

On Saturday, April 17, 2010, there’s a great opportunity for single people in Atlanta to make a difference in our city.  do.justice is an event that will bring together over 1,500 single people to volunteer for projects at several different nonprofit organizations.

Last year, Forbes magazine named Atlanta the sixth Best City for Singles using factors like: “coolness, culture, job growth, online dating participation, and nightlife.”  These are all great things, but Atlanta is also plagued with homelessness, hunger, human trafficking, and other problems that negatively impact thousands of people everyday.

do.justice is a great opportunity for singles to serve together.  At last year’s event, I had a great time volunteering for a beautification project in South Atlanta, and I’m looking forward to working with Project Open Hand this year.  Registration for do.justice is just $15 and includes a t-shirt, breakfast, and lunch.
