While Screen on the Green is the largest free outdoor movie option in Atlanta, there are several other options to enjoy a movie under the stars that are less crowded (and less chaotic too).
Movies & The Market at Atlantic Station-Thursday Nights until July 29th
My friend Mandy and I went to Movies & The Market for the original Karate Kid last week. In addition to the free movie, several restaurants in Atlantic Station have restaurant specials. We got 20% off of our meals at Tin Drum. Another good deal: The Lobby at Twelve has all you can eat pizza for $10 or $15 for unlimited beer and wine.
Flicks on Fifth-Wednesday Nights until July 21st
Located at Technology Square on 5th Street, between Spring St. and Williams St, Flicks on 5th boasts free popcorn and $6 to-go meals from nearby restaurants.
Dive-In Movies at W Atlanta Perimeter-Tuesday Nights through September
If you prefer the pool over a blanket on the grass, the W Atlanta Perimeter shows its movies poolside.
There are also several local parks that show family-oriented movies, if you’ve been dying to see Alvin & the Chipmunks: The Squeakel, check out Georgia Movies in the Park.
