The Publix Mystery Penny Item

August 11, 2010 in Couponing,Thrifty Tips

I mentioned the Publix Mystery Penny Item in my Trip to Publix post.  Sometimes the penny item can be for something I’m pretty excited about (yay for free Publix Sweet Tea), but other times it will be for something that I won’t use (I’m looking at you, free loaf of white bread).

To save myself a trip to see if the item is for something I want, I’ll check out the Penny Item pages of one of these blogs:

If you’re wondering what the penny item is or what the Publix deals are for the week, these are great resources.

So I was thinking that Publix needs to team up with a food bank. Lots of times I don’t need/want the penny item. But for 1 cent I always get it. I wish the Atlanta Foodbank had a bin there for me to drop it in. Can you make this happen?

They have different food drives and other type of donation programs throughout the year. If the penny item isn’t perishable, I often donate them to charity.
