I’m still in disbelief that it’s December. The last few weeks have been chaotic (Good: I went on a cruise to the Bahamas; Bad: my power was off for four days while our building’s outdated electrical systems was repaired), so I’m just getting in the swing of the holiday season.
My to-do lists are made for shopping, baking and decorating, but then I was reminded by this article about tipping. Most of these don’t apply to me, but for the first time I realized that I should probably tip the building concierges. I guess that’s the equivalent of a doorman on the list?
The list in the article says to give them cash or a gift worth $15 to $80. Whoa, that’s a big range. For some reason I feel like $25 for each concierge would be acceptable, but does this make me a cheapskate?
Sidenote: I think the list should provide instructions on how to get a gift to the trash collector without it getting thrown away. Do you tape it to the lid of the garbage can?
